Contact specific alerts
Current preferences allow the user to enable/disable alerts for the entire roster.
Pandion needs a feature which alerts the user when a specific contacts are Online/Offline/...

The Buddy Pounce feature though excellent is not necessarily essential (to me atleast ... smile )
a simpler notification option ...like u said ... a "User is now online" toast box for certain users is what would be useful enuf... -

Do you mean something like Pidgin's buddy pounce feature? It allows user defined triggers to execute certain actions. Or do you mean a more granular control on the "User is now online" toast boxes so that it appears only for certain users/groups and not everyone?
