  I have tried to set up a pandion.be account and was unable to. Is there a server setting I am unaware of?

  I also already implemented this feature for another branch of Pandion. Would be happy to compare both implementations! What other mods did you make? Please add me on Jabber to discuss, same address as my email.

  I created this for pandion if you are interested. I can post my code here or in the old forums. Its pretty straight forward

  Search box makes sense to me. It would be visible at all times so that users can easily discover this feature. However people should not be required to manually give it focus. Simply typing should filter the contacts automatically.

  how you gonna do it? search as you type, or with a search box?
  I think an unobtrusive search box on the top of the contact list is the best option, in this way you can see what you've typed
